Working on Education
Education is the key to both developing the skills of regenerative agriculture, and understanding its importance. We support a variety of program types that span the range form children to adults, and novice to expert. Here are the types of programs that we offer and areas where you can get involved.
School Tours
With programming designed for grades K-12, a farm visit is an incredibly impactful way for children to discover and learn about the process and importance of sustainable food production.
Our nine-acre permaculture farm contains two diverse market gardens, a high-tunnel greenhouse, a bicentennial barn, different historical planting techniques, dozens of varieties of fruit trees and shrubs, as well as ducks, chickens, and guineas. Students can observe the relationships between plants and animals, see the difference size, shape, and colors of a wide verity of crops, and taste some of the freshest seasonal items available.

Field Days
Accessible to both the general public and agricultural organizations, these events are designed to increase undertsanding of a specific topic to those who have a particular interest at any skill level. Example topics include seed starting, pruning, harvesting, and soil amending.
It is important to keep in mind that many tasks are seasonally dependent. A particular topic can be requested, but will only be available at certain times of the year. Alternatively, a particular date range can be requested and a list of possible topics can be provided for that time period.
Workshops
These events are designed for farmers and gardeners who are already familiar with agriculture
and are looking to gain a deeper understanding of regenerative practices and develop a broader skillset. The content varies from local initiatives on soil & water, to fruit and nut tree management, all the way to to broad-scale farming approaches.
If you would like to attend a workshop, you can find a list of upcoming opportunities on our events page. If you are interested in providing a workshop, you can contact us with details and we can discuss potential arrangements.
